Navigating My Illnesses

Submitted on Jul 23, 2024 by  Angel S.

Something makes pain turn to pleasure
To insult, corrupt and deceive
My cue to leave.
Drain me beat me
Covered in love. Sparkles and glimmers all passing above.
You will do anything just for the rise, orgasm, the rush of the drive.
Do it again fear is a lie.

My love language is violence
My heart is compassion
For the road less travels has new meaning.
I'm off the beaten path on my way back.
Rejoice, will songs straight from heart, from here all the demons fall apart.
Step over the rumble run through the ashes. His love gives us strength to get over masses.

HIV is a virus in my body. HIV is not me. Lupus is not me.
Cancer and addiction are not me.
They all played a part who I am today.
I wouldn't change a thing. I may have know better. I may have not.
Cross that road and never look back. From me to you Angel let's face the facts.
The tracks leave uncertainty cruelty and shame. The devil lied, it's part of his game.
Fear the Lord and find your space. I'm not falling apart I'm falling into place.

Stay beautiful Angel S.

What a beautiful poem and beautiful expression. May you continue to heal and your light shine so bright it is reflected back into your heart.
