I didn't know it would feel this good and to be honest, I am loving it! I know what I want, I am comfortable in my skin, I know that I am of the light, but I dance with darkness sometimes - and we all have that Yin and Yang.

As I continue to blog and open up about my story for the first time, I hope to give readers insight into how a former barber from Rancho Cucamonga, CA turned an HIV diagnosis into the biggest blessing of her life.

I began to understand that HIV can be a blessing, and I began to understand the most challenging thing in life. If you want to, you can get the best out of life.

Me fui enterando de que tener VIH fue una bendición y empecé a darme cuenta que, de lo más duro, lo más difícil que te pueda pasar en esta vida, si tú te lo propones, puedes sacar algo muy bueno.

Words have tremendous power. That dumb ass saying about sticks and stones makes sense to say to kids, because its coming from an adult perspective with the experience of having learned to deal with the pain of harsh words.

I thank God because now there are so many places where they support us—people with HIV. The workshops they offer and the tools they provide, give us a chance to lead a normal life.

Le doy gracias a Dios porque ahorita hay muchos lugares donde nos apoyan por cuestión de la condición. Gracias a los talleres que nos dan, gracias a las herramientas que nos dan, nosotros podemos llevar una vida normal.
