I’m the only person I know who has had more tragedies, and, yes, self pity can sometimes creep in. I was raped by my own family members, I was infected on purpose, one of the times I got raped and fell pregnant, I recently got raped again, my mom thinks I’m an underachiever, the list goes on… but earlier this week when I was dwelling on my unfortunate life…it occurred to me, I have a choice. I can choose to wallow in pity and stay on anti depresants or I can get over it and move on. Not that getting over it is easy, but compared to self pity it’s a breeze. When you throw a pity party you are the only guest there. Ladies, lets love ourselves so that we can attract love, charity begins at home and all we have is now, today. Do you wanna spend it feeling sorry for yourself? I doubt it… dress up, wear a smile, and paint the town red if you want…because you can.

A very powerful message, one of millions tragic stories that young girls go through every day in different parts of the world yet the way to approach was extraordinary, not what most would do. It takes lots of courage to grab life by its horns and make it go the way you want it to go. I love this inspiration and determine mentality. It's the only way to get what one wants out of life regardless of what others want you to do or force you to believe. Just like my Dad always reminded me when little, "Never give up to reach for what you want and one day You will get it".
Sincerely Flor
i Luv it! what u wrote is very touching,
i LEBANON, we usually wake up to know, that a war has begun,
someone has been killed,
some roads are closed....
not easily young people understood, that they have to continue to live, "normally" eventhough the situation is not always normal...
as u said, we put a smile, we dressed up, and... the party began!
