I'm a single mom of two who was diagnosed at 19 years old when pregnant with my first child. I struggled with depression and anxiety for years due to my HIV status. I have had family and close friends try to out me so many times. Born in 1986, I am a survivor of childhood trauma, child abuse, divorce, bankruptcy, foster care, being homeless, abandonment, mental health and more.
Why Jennifer wants to be part of A Girl Like Me: I want to help other women just like me. I want women to know that they are not alone and that they do not have to struggle and live in silence. I want women to know that we are in this together and that together we will make it.
