A Girl Like Me (AGLM), a program of The Well Project, is a blog where women across the gender spectrum can share their experiences and promote understanding of HIV. Millions of women around the globe are living with HIV, yet many feel they are alone in their disease and isolated in their day-to-day experiences. The goals of AGLM are to help normalize HIV; and to create a safe space for women living with HIV from around the world to speak out and share their experiences – with each other, and with those seeking a support community.

Health is wealth is the age old saying. I think that saying means that the healthier you are the wealthier your body feels. It also reiterates that we have to do what's necessary to reach the "wealth" determined by our...

My heart broke. I can't believe it. My heart tore, then broke, and BOOM! I am beating on my chest, crying, and screaming, Oh My God! PLEASE HELP ME! Thank God I was initially on the phone with a friend...

"My sweethearts… My loves… Boo… Bae… Elders… Legends… Heroes. The genuine affection this group of new advocates has for each other, and for the women whose work has paved their way, is clear in the language they use to refer...

"Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter...

"'She really is somebody to everyone,' commented Brown’s daughter, Jamanii Brown. 'Being around all the people she’s impacted and hearing story after story after story, it’s overwhelming — but it’s a good overwhelming.' Now nearly 25 and working in the...
