Charlene Cooper, MS, has been living with HIV for over 36 years. Diagnosed in 1987, after giving birth to a second child, found a life full of death and disappointment. Struggling with substance use for over 10 years, she found purpose in life and is currently a Master Trainer at CAI. A strong advocate for PLWHA’s from diverse backgrounds, Charlene worked at several CBO’s ultimately becoming a supervisor for Case Managers. Earning two degrees and now a national Trainer, the fire that was ignited so many years ago, continues to burn brightly. Charlenes’ dedication has led her to mentor over 85 Mentors across the nation to improve access to HIV care and consumer involvement in the field of HIV/AIDS, Harm Reduction, PrEP, Hep C and PEP on the level of advocacy.
