I live in Southern Ohio and work as a college professor at a large public university. I am in my early 50s, married and have a daughter who is due with my first grandchild in June 2014. Prior to moving to Ohio, I lived in Wisconsin, NYC, Seattle, Namibia and Swaziland -- not in that order. I was diagnosed as HIV positive in May when I was ill with PCP, but was infected in the mid-90s but did not know. I have told very few people about my status, other my husband and daughter, mom and sister, and two very close friends. I am not ashamed of my status, but also feel like it is not really relevant for other people to know. I figure this may change over time but right now, I see no need to disclose to others.
