Hi all!! My name is Marie. I'm 49 years old and I was recently diagnosed with HIV... I look forward to supporting women everywhere!
When I look back over my life, it has been filled with many roadblocks, bad choices, deaths, and adversities--yet, somehow, someway, I have always found the strength to carry on.
It was Friday, May 2, 1986, and the day started out like any other day, but it wasn't. Today would change our lives forever.
They told me that my medication would kill me, not the virus. And I know for a fact they were wrong... When I came to the United States in 2001, I started treatment. Four weeks later, I was undetectable.
I couldn't have imagined being where I am today. Now I can't imagine going back.
This country dares to speak of "independence" while millions are held hostage by poverty, racism, ableism, and greed. What kind of freedom is that?
Chiiiiillleee... You ever get so caught up in life that HIV doesn't even have a space in your thoughts?
You brought me through trials to teach me who I can be. The one You designed me to be.
If I can be such an inspiration to others, I must treat myself with the same love I freely give...
Truth is, both forgiveness and the inability to forgive inhibit interpersonal relationships and growth and how we level up in life.
