Nació en NY en 1962, pero llegó a PR a los 3 años por lo que se siente boricua. Tiene 2 hijos, 7 nietos y dos bisnietos. Posee un bachillerato en Investigación y un menor en psicología. El VIH llegó a vivir con ella en 1997. Desde su contagio se convirtió en activista.
