The HIV is Not a Crime IV (HINAC4) Scholarship Work Group is now accepting nominations for scholarships for the HIV Is Not a Crime IV National Training Academy to be held May 30 - June 2 in Columbus, Ohio. The HINAC4 partner organizations--SERO Project, THRIVE SS, US PLHIV Caucus, Positively Trans, and Positive Women’s Network - USA--are inviting anyone to nominate an advocate they feel should experience HINAC4 and bring the strategies and tips shared at the training academy back to their community but who would not have the resources or sponsorship to attend otherwise. Priority consideration will be given to people living with HIV, people of trans experience, people of color, survivors of HIV criminalization, and sex workers.
The process for scholarship applications is different this year as organizers wanted to take away application fatigue andprovide potential participants a more creative opportunity to express why they think attending HINAC4 will be a benefit to theiradvocacy work and community.
HIV is Not a Crime is a biennial gathering of people living with HIV (PLHIV), HIV policy leaders and otherstakeholders, primarily from the U.S., that educates and trains advocates and centers PLHIV leadership toend HIV criminalization, mass incarceration, racism and social injustice.
