July 9, 2019
12:00pm - 1:30pm ET
Register now for the second WATCH advocacy webinar of 2019! We are excited to present "U=U in 2019: How Far We've Come and Where We're Going" on July 9, 2019 from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm ET. We have now lived with the U=U campaign as a powerful, life-changing force in our community for several years. In early 2017, The Well Project endorsed Prevention Access Campaign's Consensus Statement. In July 2017 we launched our U=U fact sheet, followed by a webinar that broke down the basics for community members. Now, two years later, thanks in part to the amazing legwork by members of our own global HIV community, the U=U message is more widespread than ever. But universal acceptance of that message is still not a reality, and persisting systemic inequities keep U=U out of reach for many.
This webinar will provide a progress report on the science behind U=U and the growth of the campaign; The Well Project survey data on understanding of U=U among women living with HIV and how they are learning about U=U; provider insights into their experiences discussing U=U with their patients; and a panel of advocates describing how U=U has impacted them personally and how they've seen their communities receive the U=U message. Speakers include Krista Martel, The Well Project; Bruce Richman, Prevention Access Campaign; Lisa Scotti, NP, Baltimore City Health Department, ANAC; community advisory board member Maria Mejia; A Girl Like Me blogger Katie Willingham; and Dee Conner.
