Webinar: The Power of Positive Voices - June 30, 2015

Tuesday, June 30, 2015
11:30:00 AM PDT - 12:30:00 PM PDT
via AIDS United

The Power of Positive Voices, co-hosted with The US People Living with HIV Caucus, will explore the history and value of meaningful involvement of people living with HIV in the HIV/AIDS response. Learn about the impact HIV-positive involvement can have from the front lines of advocacy and peer services to the leadership of community organizations. Hear lessons learned from Legacy Community Health Services' positive organizing work and an introduction to a new funding opportunity from AIDS United for those interested in starting or growing their own positive organizing efforts.

Throughout the HIV epidemic, the leadership and advocacy of people living with HIV has been key in furthering research, treatment and prevention. While bio-medical advances and health reform offer new hope in the end of AIDS, the involvement of people living with HIV in fighting stigma, moving policy and informing an effective response will be needed to turn that hope into reality.
