Updates to the infant feeding updates in the 2023 US Perinatal HIV Clinical Guidelines assert the need for shared decision-making between providers and parents living with HIV and increased support from providers for parents' infant-feeding choices. The Well Project conducted a survey in 2024 that show the guideline updates have led healthcare providers to report significantly increased support for women and other birthing parents living with HIV who are interested in breast/chestfeeding. This webinar will review highlights of the guideline updates, key findings from The Well Project’s 2024 survey, discuss ongoing challenges, and impress the need for continued efforts to increase knowledge among healthcare providers, women and other people living with HIV, and other key stakeholders to support parents in knowing their options and making optimal decisions for themselves and their families.

Speakers: Ciarra Covin and Krista Martel
