What will it take to end white supremacist structures and systems in our work?
The conference is Thursday October 29 and Friday October 30 and features four AMAZING speakers - Dr. Camara Phyllis Jones, Dr. Russell Brewer, Dr. Sheldon Fields, and Dr. Tonia Poteat.
Spoken word and song will be provided by Chicago’s Storie Devereaux, who will also host the proceedings.
The purpose of this gathering is to both inform the HIV workforce and to reflect and strategize on the roles that leaders, communities and our organizations play in perpetuating structural racism and white supremacy.
With grounding in an understanding of up-to-the-minute history, and the lived context of diverse populations heavily impacted by HIV such as Black and Brown transwomen, gay men, and justice-involved populations, participants will gain insights into building and sustaining a culture of Race Equity.
We can’t get to zero and end the HIV epidemic without Race Equity, and we hope you will join us in our collective quest to deepen our understanding, strengthen our resolve, and embolden our actions.
