I am Woman #5 of a unique group of HIV positive women who have been identified as HIV Controllers or Long Term Non-Progressors. Since 2005, we have participated in one or more clinical studies investigating the natural control of HIV Infection. There are approximately 4,700 individuals who identified as HIV Controllers or Long Term Non-Progressors since 2005. Of those of us who have participated in one or more clinical studies investigating the natural control of HIV infection, less than 9% {about 42) have gone public with their unique status. Only five are women. I am Woman #5.
