Hi, My name is Doretta...

Hi, My name is Doretta Gadsden. I'm a registered nurse and author of a best selling book Living Victoriously. I was diagnosed with AIDS in 1993 while working on an AIDS unit in Beth Israel medical center in NYC. 10 years before that I was an IV drug abuser who was trying to excape from the memories of incest with my father.

Today I live a healthy life. I'm married and we have a blended family of loving children and grandchildren.

I want to connect with other women living full lives with this diagnosis and I want to get more involved with showing women and girls that you can live healthy lives despite having a dignosis of HIV/AIDS.

HIV/AIDS is not what it was years ago but we still have to teach safe sex, testing and caring for our bodies. Choices in treatment is plentiful compared to when I was diagnosed in 1993.

Thats a bit about me. I'm glad to be here
