Please consider adding your organization’s name to this letter urging members of Congress to support the Raise the Wage Act. The bill includes provisions to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 by 2024, phase out the outdated subminimum wage for tipped workers, phase out the subminimum wage for workers under 20, and sunset the subminimum wage for workers with disabilities.
Nearly 40 million workers, including LGBTQ people, would receive increased wages from the Act. In light of the disproportionate rates of poverty among LGBTQ people, passing this measure is a critical priority for our community.
The bill will be moving forward in the House in July, and we would appreciate support from your organization. You can learn more about the bill by checking out the Raise the Wage Act the LGBTQ Community call recording.
You can sign on to the letter here. The deadline is Monday, July 8th COB.
