We are calling on governments, international institutions, and the global community of civil society organizations to celebrate and recognize April 11 as the International Day for Maternal Health and Rights:
Because a woman dies from pregnancy or childbirth every two minutes.
Because pregnancy, childbirth, and HIV are the leading causes of death for girls and women of reproductive age.
Because every woman has the right to dignity, respect, and skilled care during pregnancy and childbirth.
Join our call for an International Day for Maternal Health and Rights.
