Please feel free to forward to your networks. World AIDS Day: Congress Should Provide Robust FY2015 Funding for Domestic HIV Prevention, Care, Treatment and Research Programs
Background
Congress is working now to extend or finalize Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 funding, and Members of Congress will vote on this by Thursday, December 11th. As part of World AIDS Day, we need to let Congress know that we appreciate their support of domestic HIV programs and the work on FY2015 funding. In honor of World AIDS Day, please ask your Senators and Representative to pass an omnibus appropriations bill that fully funds domestic HIV programs for the rest of FY2015 now!
Action Needed
On December 3, in honor of World AIDS Day, please call*, Facebook or tweet your Senators and Representative to:
- Thank them for their support of HIV programs, and
- Urge them to pass an omnibus appropriations bill that fully funds domestic HIV prevention, care, treatment and research programs for the rest of FY2015 now!
To call, please dial the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121.
The Message
Today, in honor of World AIDS Day, I would like to thank Senator/Representative ____ for his/her support for HIV programs. Federal domestic HIV programs help prevent new HIV infections, treat and care for people living with HIV, and conduct research on HIV prevention, treatment and cure. (Please provide a local or personal example if possible, thanks!)
We urge you to please pass an omnibus funding bill that fully funds domestic HIV programs for the rest of FY2015 now! Funding delays or uncertainty can harm local HIV providers or programs serving your state/district and make constituents worried about continued access to HIV services.
Thank you so much again for all of your work on this critical issue!
