Love Positive Women Flyer.

Are you a woman/femme living with HIV who would like to receive a handmade card on Valentine's Day as part of our LOVE POSITIVE WOMEN program?

To receive a handmade valentine, please click here and complete the form by February 6, 2024.

You can also email your name and mailing address to lovepositivewomen@visualaids.org.

Due to limited supplies this year, group requests are limited to 30 cards per organization.

Cards will be mailed out in early February so that they arrive by Valentine's Day, February 14. (International mailings may arrive later.) Respecting the privacy of recipients, envelopes will bear the recipient's address without additional information.

Please note that the valentines are for women and femme-identified people living with HIV only. Thank you for respecting this.

This program is a collaboration between Visual AIDS, the Fire Island Artist Residency, Dieu Donné, Positive Women's Network — USA, and The Well Project.

Since 2015, artists, activists and HIV-positive women have come together for LOVE POSITIVE WOMEN paper making workshops to show their love and support for women living with HIV. Hosted at Dieu Donné's paper making studios, the program has mailed over 4,500 unique handmade paper Valentines cards to women living with HIV around the world to celebrate LOVE POSITIVE WOMEN. These workshops are collaboratively produced with the Fire Island Artist Residency and Dieu Donné. This year we are inviting artists to decorate valentines at home on handmade paper hearts produced by Dieu Donné.

LOVE POSITIVE WOMEN is an international series of events that uses Valentines Day as a backdrop, creating a platform for individuals and communities to engage in public and private acts of love and caring for women living with HIV. Working from a place of strength, LPW focuses on the idea of interconnectedness, relationship building, loving oneself and loving ones community. LOVE POSITIVE WOMEN is an ongoing project established by Visual AIDS artist member Jessica Whitbread in 2013.
