Hangouts with HIVE- Beyond Compassion: Caring for Women with a History of Trauma - October 28, 2016

October 28, 2016
10-11am PDT / 1-2pm EDT
via HIVE

  • Trauma is associated with increased HIV vulnerability, higher HIV incidence, faster disease progression & more hospitalizations.
  • Unaddressed trauma is associated with twice the rate of death among women living with HIV.
  • Violence and/or trauma rupture women’s relationships with self, partners, family members & medical system.
  • HIV criminalization laws enforce long histories of systemic oppression, further stigmatizing women.
  • Addressing trauma is necessary to support women living with or at risk of acquiring HIV.

Join us on Friday, October 28th, 2016 at 10am PT/1pm ET for a Google+ Hangout on Air as we talk about the way forward towards healing and supporting resiliency in the women we care for.
