Is It Me?

It's amazing to me how time waits for no one, and neither does HIV. After a good friend tested positive, I thought to myself … How? Why? I questioned myself as to what did I do wrong? I talked about the statistics daily, and I always reminded them that they couldn't take a chance on anybody… no matter how good they thought they looked. I posted heavily on FB, Instagram, and blogged religiously, and it still happened! The HIV Clearview Test showed a positive diagnosis for HIV and I sent off the confirmatory test the same day and waited as you would wait for a woman in labor to birth their child.

Now, I know most people would say, Oh come on… you can't take it that serious… you did your job! However the reality is that the stats are continuing to go up and no one seems to care. I feel as though everyone is going on with their lives and truly feel that HIV/AIDS is not that serious; it happens to everyone else but them, and all you have to do is take some pills and live a long time. Is it me?

You are a good friend.  You can not hold yourself responsible or have any regrets for someone else's behavior.

Continue your fight to educate.  You don't know how many you've educated and possibly prevented a new diagnosis.

Keep fighting and keep educating!  Hugs :)
